PurrBox: July 2015

Another PurrBox is here for the month of July. I did cancel my PurrBox subscription but I must have missed the cut off for this months box. I'm still glad I got it though as my kitties love the toys and treats they get.

I've given them the treats a couple of times now and they gobble them down so they obviously like them, although Fudge eats absolutely everything, he's so greedy. Both kitties liked playing with the little mice and were batting them around for ages. I managed to get a clear photo of Cookie playing with one of the mice while he messed up my rug. Fudge also loves playing with the little tea bag toy and it's now missing some of it's feathers.

This month I grabbed the catnip pouch out the box rather quickly before Fudge had a chance to rip it open so I'll let them play with that sometime through the month.

This will be my last PurrBox for a while until I sort my money then I will definitely be starting it back up.

Review: Avon Ultra Colour Lip Tint Pen in Raspberry

Todays review is on the new Avon Ultra Colour Lip Tint Pen in the shade Raspberry. I saw this in the latest Avon book and I haven't tried anything like this before so thought I'd buy it to see what it was like. 

The packaging is quite plain with the colour shown on the bottom end. The nib looks like a felt tip and the colour looks quite dark compared to how it comes out. I first applied this to my hand to see what it was like. It looked quite nice and a lovely colour but it then bled straight into the lines on my hand so I was a bit worried it would do the same on my lips. 

Applying it to my lips was not a great experience as it felt exactly like I was using a felt tip pen. I know it's called a lip pen but I wasn't expecting it to feel quite so much like a pen. It was really difficult to get an even coverage as you can see in the below photo and it felt kind of sticky after application. I'm not sure how long lasting this is as I took it off after about half an hour. Overall I'm not really impressed with this and I may send this back as I won't be wearing it again.

PurrBox: June 2015

I've only got the PurrBox for a few times but I really like it and my cats do too. June's box is the first I've received since getting my new kitten Fudge and he was in there straight away as you can see.

I barely got a chance to take the stuff out the box before Fudge was in there and attacking the catnip pouch, he managed to get it all over the place. Fudge and Cookie loved the new toys which look like pea pods, kinda weird but funny. They liked the treats as well and I also shared these with my mums cat who loved them.

I'm not sure if I'll try growing the catnip with the seeds as I tried growing the cat grass before and it creeped me out when the seeds started sprouting and the roots everywhere, does anyone else get weirded out like that or is it just me.

Overall this has been a pretty good box and I can't wait for the next one.

Glossybox: June 2015

I've been missing getting my Glossybox every month so I started it up again in June, I've actually had to cancel it again though as I can't afford it this month as I've had too many sick days from work and I don't get paid.

This is the first nail polish I've tried from Essence and the first gel formula I've tried. I really like the colour and the finish it gives. I've been wearing it the past 2 days and it hasn't chipped yet.

Glossybox Flash Tattoos

Temporary tattoos are all the rage right now and these ones are exclusive to Glossybox. I like the idea of them but I'm not keen on the designs of these ones so I probably won't be using them.

This is a lovely refreshing mist which can be used on the face or body but I don't like the scent of this so I'm giving it away to my mum.

Halo Fragrance Free Facial Wipes

Not much to say about these as they're just your basic face wipes, they are fragrance free though so good for sensitive skin and it's a lovely little travel pack.

Overall I'm not too impressed with this box as I'll only be using the facial wipes and nail polish.

Review: Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette Iconic 3

Todays review is about the Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette Iconic 3, this is the first eyeshadow palette I bought from Makeup Revolution. I really like bright eyeshadows but I thought this was a really pretty neutral palette.

This palette contains 12 eyeshadows and comes in some sleek black packaging with a clear lid so you can see the shadows inside. It's really basic but quite sturdy and I like that you can see the shadows through the lid. The eyeshadows are quite pigmented and are really easy to blend. All the swatches below are from just one swipe of the shadow.

I created the below eye makeup look using four of the shadows from the palette. Most of the shadows I used were from the left side of the palette. I did create a look using more of the darker shadows but I forgot to take photos so I'll do that again at some point. I really like the shadows in this palette and I've been using them a lot lately for work.
