Makeup: Blue Eyes & Orange Lips

When I did my makeup course a couple of years ago I had to do a similar look to this so thought I'd try to re-create it today. It's not for everyone but I quite like how the blue and orange look together.

1 - I've been seeing a lot of posts on Essence makeup recently and I'm looking forward to trying some out. I love pretty brushes so I really want this one as it has purple bristles.

2 - I really like strawberry cheesecake so when I saw this lipbalm I can just imagine it smelling so delicious.

3 - This skirt is just so cute. I love cupcakes!

4 - This necklace makes me think of the sea and mermaids so that's reason enough to want it.

5 - I read a review on this foundation by Miss Makeup Magpie and the lightest shade looks quite pale so I'm interested in trying this out.

Makeup Timer Test Tag

I love seeing all these tags going around so thought I'd start doing some of them. Today I thought I'd do the Makeup Time Test Tag which was created by Lily Pebbles.

All you have to do is:

1. Set a stopwatch to record each step, stopping and resetting in between each one.
2. Do your everyday makeup routine at your usual speed.
3. Write a post with your timings and a list of what makeup you used.
4. Have fun!

I'm quite surprised at how long it took me to do my eyebrows as I don't do much to them I just fill them in a little. Overall I think I done quite well, 15 minutes to do a full face of makeup is pretty quick I think.

1 - I think this earring looks really unique, I love the chain and the little hanging feathers.

2 - I only have one Essie nail polish and I really like the brush they have so I want to get more of them. This pastel mint colour looks really pretty.

3 - As soon as I saw Makeup Revolution had released these new blushers I wanted one. The shades look lovely and I love the heart shaped box.

4 - I love the colours of this skirt, I think pink and yellow look great together and it's got Alice in Wonderland print too.

5 - I'm not sure if I'd be brave enough to wear this top outside but I love the style and think it's just gorgeous.

Foot Care Routine

I've been trying to look after my feet a bit better this year as they do get quite dry and get the occasional bit of hard skin. I thought I'd share with you my new foot care routine which I'm trying to do every week. So far I'm doing pretty well with it.

Step 1: Soak

First up is soaking the feet, I use warm water and usually put in some foot soak. At the moment I'm using Avon Foot Works Comforting Soak in Berry Vanilla. I usually soak them for about 5-10 mins, I make sure to take them out before they start to go a bit prune like.

Step 2: File

Next up is filing the hard skin away, mainly from the heels of my feet. Depending on how bad the hard skin is will determine which file I use. If it's not too bad then I'll just use the sandpaper type file, if it is quite bad then I'll use the metal type file. I used to be worried that the metal file would hurt my feet as it looks like a grater but as it's used on hard skin you can't feel it so much and it doesn't hurt at all.

Step 3: Scrub

Then I move onto scrubbing the dead skin off my feet as we don't want any of that. For this I use the Avon Foot Works Smoothing Scrub in Berry Vanilla. Once I've scrubbed my entire foot then I wash the scrub off in the water and dry my feet with a towel.

Step 4: Moisturise

Lastly, I moisturise my feet with Avon Foot Works Moisturising Cream in Berry Vanilla and put some groovy socks on while my feet soak up the moisture. Today I've gone with some lovely ladybug socks.

Unfortunately Avon no longer sell the Berry Vanilla scent as I think this was a Christmasy scent but they do have some others so you can check them out here.

Makeup: Blue Shimmer Eyes

This is the makeup that I wore out for dinner last night. I went for some blue shimmery eyeshadow to match with the blue dress that I was wearing. I also attempted to do a fishtail braid in my hair, it came out ok but I think my hair needs to be a bit longer.

Haul: Dress Lily

Just 10 days ago I made an order on Dress Lily and it arrived today. Considering this came from China, I'm very impressed with the shipping time and it was free shipping too. I only bought a couple of things this time as I didn't have much money but I'll definitely be purchasing more from them in the future.

The first item I got was a pair of panda earrings which I mentioned in a wishlist post. They are just so cute and pretty. I love the little diamante flowers which make them look more girly. These were only £1.93, here.

The other item I got was a pair of leggings which are black with some cut outs down the front of the legs. I saw a similar pair months ago but couldn't afford them at the time so as soon as I saw these I had to get them before they go out of stock. These were only £9.30, here.

1 - I've been listening to 5SOS's two songs She Looks So Perfect and Don't Stop constantly the past couple of months and now their album has been released I want to get it. I'm hoping to buy this next week :)

2 - I love this top, the panda looks so cute.

3 - I really like the Batiste dry shampoo and I found this vibrant & red version on Boots which I'd like to try out as I have red hair.

4 - I saw this top in a recent email from River Island and I was just like, wow! I love the bright orange colour and the style is gorgeous.

5 - Green goes really well with my red hair and this palette has a few different shades which I think would look amazing especially with the different brown shades too.

Favourites: June 2014

I haven't got that many favourites from June as I feel like the month just flew by and I hadn't really used or done much.

Rimmel BB Cream Matte - I've been loving wearing this in June as it's much lighter than wearing foundation but it still gives you a bit of coverage. I use the matte version as I have quite oily skin. Read my post on this here.

Shorts - I haven't actually been outside that much in June but I've been loving wearing shorts a lot indoors due to the warmer weather it gets quite warm in my room. I've been wearing a few pairs from Primark which are rather comfy.

Here's a few of the pairs I've been wearing. (The bottom two are actually pj bottoms but I've only been wearing them inside.) 

Chokablok Cookie Dough Mon-Star Ice Cream - This has got to be my favourite ice cream at the moment, I've had 3 tubs already the last month, it is so yummy!! It has chunks of choc chip cookie dough, chocolate stars, caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream.

As I recently bought some makeup from Primark I wanted to try them out today and I'm very impressed with them. They are so cheap and really good quality, they are really pigmented and lasted all day. I'm definitely going to buy some more soon.
