Mum Does My Makeup Day 5

Here's the last day of my mum doing my makeup. She went for a gothic grungy look today.
Mum Does My Makeup Day 5
I haven't worn a lip this dark before but I quite like it so I may try it again sometime.

Here's day 4 of my mum doing my makeup. Today I'm wearing a blue skirt so she chose to use blue in today's look.

Mum Does My Makeup Day 1

This week I've got a little treat for you as I'm going to be doing a post everyday. My mum has offered to do my make up for a week so I'll be showing you what she's creating for me. I've been slacking a bit on my make up as I haven't really been wearing much lately so hopefully this will perk me up.

Today she went for an autumn leaves type look with the orange and green colours.

Christmas Nails: Candy Stripes

I don't think I've ever actually done any Christmas nails before which is a bit sad :( so this is my first attempt. I thought I'd start off simple with some lovely candy stripes and I thought drawing some lines on my nails would be easy but it is not! I still think they came out quite good though.

I've got some other Christmas nails planned so I'll be posting them in the next couple of weeks before Christmas arrives.

Mexican Costume

Last Friday I went to my previous jobs staff party which was fancy dress and the theme was Mexican (they didn't do Mexican food though!). I only found out I could go a couple of weeks ago so I didn't have much time to sort out my outfit and it had to be cheap. I chose to dress up as a Mexican lady so bought a simple top and skirt from Primark, some red and black flowers to go in my hair from Claire's Accessories and wore a pair of black shoes that I already own.

I found it quite difficult to find pictures of Mexican makeup so just went for something simple, I wore 2 shades of brown eyeshadow with black liner around the eyes and then a bright red lipstick with a peach blusher.

Winter Boots

You may know that I am a shoe lover and as it's getting colder I have been wearing my boots a lot more to keep my feet lovely and warm. I currently only have 4 pairs of boots as I'm quite fussy and it takes me ages to find some I like.
Winter Boots
I think this pair was from Shoe Zone, I've had them for a few years and have worn them loads.
Winter Boots
These are the most expensive pair of shoes/boots I own. They were about £200 from Irregular Choice and I love them. They make your feet look so cute and small.
Winter Boots
I've had these for years and years, they are so comfy to wear and I love the lace up style. Can't remember where I got them from though and the label inside has actually worn away.
Winter Boots
These are the most recent pair of boots I've bought from Very, again with the lace up front. These are super warm as they have fur inside. I love these, you can wear the fur rolled up or rolled down.
Winter Boots
So there's my collection of boots.

Have you been getting your boots out for the cold weather?

Makeup: Estee Lauder Green Eyes

I had a lovely surprise from my cat this morning, she had left a dead rat outside the back door, so gross!! She's a really good huntress but it would be nice if she didn't bring them home.

The sun is shining today but it is getting colder and I'm starting to wear warmer clothes and darker colours. Today I thought I'd show you this green make up that I wear a lot which I think is a perfect colour for Autumn.

Here's the face chart I completed for this look. I recently bought these from Prochart so I could design my make up looks using the actual make up products.
Makeup: Estee Lauder Green Eyes
Products
Estee Lauder Eyeshadow in Sage - lighter colour on the inner half of the lid and the darker colour on the outer half of the lid
Estee Lauder Eye Pencil in Forest
Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara in Black

Makeup: Avon Eyeshadow Glow Teal

I haven't done any make up posts for a while so here's one on how I applied the Avon Eyeshadow Quad Glow Teal. Sometimes I only use a couple of the eyeshadows from a quad palette but this time I used all 4.

Avon have recently re-designed the style of their eyeshadow palettes and I quite like how they look now.
Makeup: Avon Eyeshadow Glow Teal
This is the first time I've actually used this quad.

I applied shadow 1 (lightest) as a highlighter to the brow bone. Shadow 2 (brown) I applied to my lid from the inner corner to about half way across. Shadow 3 (blue) I applied to my lid aswell but starting from half way across and to the outer corner of the eye. Then I applied shadow 4 (dark blue) to the crease and also lined around my eye a bit. Lastly I applied some black eye liner and mascara.

Here's the finished look.
Makeup: Avon Eyeshadow Glow Teal
It took me ages to try to photograph a close up of my eye that looked decent. I think it shows the colours quite well.

Glossybox: October 2013

October has been and gone but I still have my October Glossybox here. The theme for this box was Dark Romance. I was actually a little disappointed when I opened the box as I thought there might be a few make up products in there to go with the dark romance theme. There are some good products but I was expecting more make up.

MeMeMe - Cherub's Blush Cheek & Lip Tint
MeMeMe - Cherub's Blush Cheek & Lip Tint
This is a multipurpose product as it can be used on both the lips and cheeks. It's a lovely pink colour and it blends really well on the cheeks. It's also long lasting so you don't have to re-apply it a lot.

Katy Perry - Killer Queen Fragrance

Katy Perry - Killer Queen Fragrance
This new perfume from Katy Perry has a romantic floral scent. I wasn't sure about this when I first smelt it but I'm actually starting to like it now and I may have to buy a full size bottle. As you can see from the photo the bottle has an unusual shape and looks quite royal. I would love to have this displayed on my table.

Monu - Illuminating Primer
Monu - Illuminating Primer
This primer enhances your skin complexion and gives it a lovely sheen. I used this under my foundation so it gave me a smooth base to work with and it felt nice on the skin.

Premae - Multi-Vit Smoothie Serum
Premae - Multi-Vit Smoothie Serum
This serum has a fresh lemon smell and you don't need to use much as it spreads very well. This serum is good for combination skin as it soothes redness and hydrates the skin leaving your skin feeling smooth and quite refreshed.

Vita Liberata - Latte Illuminating Skin Finish
Vita Liberata - Latte Illuminating Skin Finish
I just applied a bit of this on my hand as I wasn't sure how this would come out. It adds some bronzing to the skin which is a bit dark for me and it has a shimmer to it which is quite nice. This product also has SPF 25 so perfect for using in the sunshine.

I've recently started making a Blog Planner so I can organise my blog posts and plan them out properly. I'll give you a little peek in a future post.

Nails: Fireworks

As yesterday was bonfire night and lots of fireworks were going off (my cat didn't like them at all) I decided to paint some fireworks on my nails this week. I chose 5 different glitter colours as fireworks are quite sparkly.

Halloween Nails: Jack Skellington

Happy Halloween!

I know I haven't posted since last week but we were having new windows fitted and I couldn't actually get to my computer or much of my stuff for the whole weekend, it was a nightmare! I think I am addicted to my computer.

So, today is Halloween, one of my favourite holidays and I have done some Halloween nails of Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas. It's quite simple as I'm not too good at doing nail art yet.
Halloween Nails: Jack Skellington
It's not a brilliant photo as I seemed to have smudged the black when I applied the top coat, I should have left it to dry for longer. Grrr, it's so annoying.

I've only done one nail so far as I'm off to visit my sister today who lives in Oxford but I wanted to get this posted.

Have a spooky Halloween.

Nails: Avon Diamond Sparkle Absinthe

This week I'm wearing one of Avon's new polishes from their Diamond Sparkle Collection called Absinthe. (You can probably guess the colour of this one)
Avon Diamond Sparkle Absinthe
The bottle is kind of a diamond shape which I quite like. The polish applies nicely and dries reasonably quick.
Avon Diamond Sparkle Absinthe
It's a lovely lime green colour and is really shimmery.
Avon Diamond Sparkle Absinthe
Next week I'm planning to do some halloween inspired nails and possibly a video tutorial if I can work out how to do it with my camera and make it look good.

Review: Avon Mega Effects Mascara

My latest Avon order has come through and I bought their new mascara Mega Effects. The brush is different to other mascaras and I wasn't sure how good it would be but I like to try them all out.
Avon Mega Effects Mascara
The mascara actually comes with instructions on how to open it and apply but it's pretty straight forward anyway.
Avon Mega Effects Mascara
You just wiggle the handle and pull the brush out which you can see is a bit like a paintbrush shape.
Avon Mega Effects Mascara
Then you just apply a couple of coats and ta da!
Avon Mega Effects Mascara
This mascara is different and may put some people off but I like it and it is really easy to use and applies a good coat of mascara to the lashes.

Review: Foreo LUNA mini

I got invited to another campaign from BzzAgent a couple of weeks ago for the new Foreo LUNA mini. I hadn't heard of this before but thought I'd give it a try. You were able to choose from a selection of colours, I chose Petal Pink as pink is my favourite.
Foreo LUNA mini
So, what is the LUNA mini? It's the revolutionary t-sonic facial-cleansing device which offers a deep, gentle cleansing in 1 minute. Use twice a day for 3 days and your skin will be brighter and clearer. T-sonic pulsations help unclog pores and remove dead skin cells. The LUNA mini is also travel friendly, rechargeable and fully waterproof.
Foreo LUNA mini
There's a leaflet included which explains how to use the LUNA mini, it's quite simple and easy.
Foreo LUNA mini
After using the LUNA mini just once I was really impressed. My skin felt really fresh and clean and also quite soft. I haven't been using it everyday but my skin is definitely looking better.
