Hi, it's Kat, remember me? So I've been a bit MIA from this blog for a while and that's because I've been spending a lot of time over in YouTube land. As my first post back I thought I'd give you a little update on some of my latest videos and you can check out my channel here.

Review: Lime Crime Velvetines
Todays review is on the Lime Crime Velvetines. I bought one of their limited edition trio packs from Love Makeup. The set contains three different shades, they are Beet It, Buffy and Peacock. I've wanted to try some of the Lime Crime Velvetines for a while and when I saw the Peacock shade in this set I had to get it before it was gone.
They came in this beautiful box, I love Lime Crime's packaging, it's so pretty. The lip products are then individually boxed inside this with the same pattern on and they display the name and colour on the top of the box.
Each tube then has the blue rose pattern on the lid of the product with a clear tube so you can see the colour inside. It has a doe foot applicator and the consistency of the product is quite thin but they are very pigmented.
Here's swatches of each of the colours after application, they do dry matte though after a couple of minutes. Colours are Peacock, Buffy and Beet It in that order.

When applying you need to make sure there is even layers over the lips or it will look a little patchy as you can kind of see with Peacock. Once they are dry they do not transfer and I found them to be really comfortable on the lips and not drying. They last for a really long time as well, I went out for the day wearing Beet It, ate a roast dinner and it was still on in the evening.
I'm really loving these right now and hopefully I can get more of the colours.
I bought this set for £31.50 from Love Makeup. They are no longer available as a set but you can buy Buffy and Beet It individually.

April 2016 Goals
Happy April Fools Day!
So March was a pretty rubbish month for me blogging wise as I only posted once. I think this is because I've really been getting into YouTube and I find it easier than blogging as I feel like I'm not very good at writing. I do really love blogging though so I want to continue with it but I'm going to reduce the amount of posts a week. I was doing three posts a week but I'm now going to do two on Monday and Friday and hopefully I can get back into blogging again.
Onto my goals for April:
Get back to blogging and post twice a week
Finish reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Review: Freedom Pro Matte Longwear Foundation
I've always had difficulty finding a foundation that's light enough for my skin so if I find any cheap ones, I like to try them out. I bought the Freedom Pro Matte Longwear Foundation in their lightest shade 02 hoping it might match.
The packaging is quite simple and in a squeezy tube, I think it looks quite professional though considering it is a cheap brand. This foundation is a liquid formula.
It is a very close match to my skin but I still feel like it's slightly too dark, I could probably get away with wearing it on it's own but I may mix it with a little white foundation. Apparently this is supposed to be a matte foundation but I don't think it looks completely matte unless you powder on top of it.
I would say this gives a light to medium coverage on the skin. It did show up some dry patches on my skin though, I did think I had oily/combination skin but I think it might actually be a bit dehydrated so this foundation is probably not good for dry skin. I wore this all day and it stayed on pretty well except for the few dry patches that didn't look too good. I will continue to use this foundation and I'm going to start using a hydrating moisturiser to hopefully help with the dry skin.
You can buy this for £2 from Freedom.

Review: Garnier PureActive Micellar Cleansing Water
The Garnier PureActive Micellar Cleansing Water is the first micellar water I've tried and I only bought it as I was running out of my cleanser so thought I'd try something different. Micellar water has been around for a while now and is quite popular in the blogger/youtube community. I chose to try the Garnier one as I like the brand and already use a few of their products. They have a few different ones for the different skin types, I got the combination to oily one.
I love the packaging of this, the design is really good and you can see through the bottle so you know how much product you have. It's really easy to use and you just pop a bit onto a cotton pad and wipe over your face. It leaves the skin feeling clean and refreshed.
I've used this quite a few times now and it's good at removing most of my makeup but I found it wasn't very good at getting my mascara off. Before I was using the Avon Eye Makeup Remover to take off my eye makeup and it's really good at getting mascara off so I will continue to use this to remove my eye makeup and then the micellar water for the rest of my face.
You can buy this for £4.99 from Superdrug or Boots.

Review: Makeup Revolution Lipliners
When I saw that Makeup Revolution launched some lipliners I had to get them as I only owned a couple and they're so cheap. I bought the whole set as there is a good range of colours which will be able to go with most lipstick shades. There are eight different shades and they are called The One, Nearly Naked, Baby Pink, Soft Pink, Bold Pink, Cherry Red, Rebel and Vamp.
Most of the liners are pink shades but there are a couple nude ones and a dark berry one. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't a proper red as Cherry Red is more pink. I do already own a red lipliner so it's not a major problem for me.
They apply nice and smoothly to the lips but they're not too soft so you can get a sharp line. I've worn three of them under lipsticks throughout the day and they last quite well so even when the lipstick started to wear off the liner was still underneath to keep the colour there. I'm really impressed with these and I will probably where one of these each time I wear lipstick.

Birthday Pressies 2016
Today is my birthday and I am now 26 which means I'm closer to 30 than 20. I have to say I really don't feel that old though, I still feel like a teenager.
Onto the good bit, the pressies. My two main presents this year from my parents were a freezer and some Alex drawers from Ikea to put my makeup in. I haven't got photos of these as the freezer is kinda boring and I'm not getting the drawers until this weekend.
I got a few foodie gifts, some chocolate eggs, mini choc chip cookies and Lindor Strawberries and Cream which are delicious.
I do already own some headphones which I use to Skype when I play games with my family but they are wired and my mischief kitty Fudge likes to pull them out of the computer so I wanted to get some wireless ones. I added these blue ones to my Amazon wishlist and my daddy bought them for me along with a bluetooth dongle.
My dad also got me a selfie stick which will come in handy.
My lovely cousin got me a baking recipe book so I shall be trying some of these this year.
My mum and me recently saw some new dolls in Toys'r'us and they looked so pretty and cute. They are from Ever After High and my mum got me a couple of them, Kitty Cheshire and Madeline Hatter. I love their outfits and they've got really pretty hair and faces. Once I get some shelves up in my room then I'm going to put these on display. They have so many more dolls which I want to get too.

Review: Avon SuperExtend Winged Out Mascara
Todays review is on the Avon SuperExtend Winged Out Mascara. Another Avon mascara added to my collection, I've got one more to review and then I think I've tried most of the Avon mascaras.
The packaging is quite simple, black with a silver lid and writing. I like the packaging but I found that the lid isn't very secure, it seems to open far too easily.
It has a rubber brush with many bristles on but it doesn't pick up too much product at a time.
In the below photo I have applied 1-2 coats of this mascara and you can see it gives more of a natural look. It really separates out the lashes and doesn't clump them together. If you're looking for length then this is a good mascara as it lengthens the lashes and wings them out as the name suggests.
I'm more into thickening mascaras but I will use this one when I'm in a rush to go out and just want to put a bit of mascara on.
You can this for £8.50 from Avon.

February 2016 Goals
I skipped my January goals as I didn't want to put too much pressure on myself and I did a 2016 goals so I'm back with February's goals but first I'll re-cap on Decembers to see how I got on.
Make my flat look festive - I did this, put up a tree, hung some tinsel and put some garlands on the wall. It wasn't the best but it was better than the year before.
Upload first YouTube video - I'm so proud of myself for uploading my first video in December and since then I've uploaded two more. I missed two weeks where I had flu but I'm better now and there will be a new video Sunday.
Join at least one Twitter chat - I still failed to do this, even after writing it in my planner I always seem to miss them. One day I'll join one.
Onto February goals:
Finish reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - I started reading this book around the beginning of January and I'd really like to finish it this month so I can move onto the next one.
Print own stickers - I've bought quite a few stickers for my planner the past couple of months but they aren't cheap so I'm having to limit myself now but I thought I could have a go at making some of my own.

Review: Primark Velvet Matte Lipstick Crayon
Todays review is on the Primark Velvet Matte Lipstick Crayon. Unfortunately I don't know what colour I bought as it doesn't appear to have the name or anything on the packaging, it may have been on the price label which I already removed after I bought it.
The shade is a plum colour, I haven't tried many dark lipsticks so when I saw this in passing I thought I'd give it a try as it's so cheap. I like the packaging and that it has the colour of the lipstick on the lid and bottom. The colour of the lipstick actually matches quite well with the colour on the packaging.
It's quite easy to apply as it has a soft creamy formula and the colour is quite opaque. I did find it hard to get an even line though and felt that it looked a little messy round the edge of my lips. It feels really comfortable on the lips and I think it's a gorgeous colour.
It lasts quite well on the lips but if you rub your lips together it does become a little patchy and it wore off quite a bit after eating.
Overall I do like this lipstick and will continue to wear it as it's a lovely colour and for the price it's pretty good.
You can buy this from Primark for £2.

Review: Makeup Revolution Naked Chocolate Palette
Todays review is on the Makeup Revolution Naked Chocolate Palette which is the 'white' chocolate from their collection. I love the packaging of these as it looks just like a bar of chocolate, good enough to eat.
It includes a large mirror which is fantastic for travelling. There are 16 eyeshadows in the palette, a mixture of mattes and shimmers, they are all neutral shades, golds, bronzes, browns and nudes.
Most of the eyeshadows are really pigmented, I found that Choc-fest, Tob-le-rone and Milky aren't quite as pigmented as the others so need a little building up. They all feel quite soft and buttery on the fingers.
The shadows apply nicely and blend out really well. I found that they lasted all day on my eyes with no creasing. This is definitely a favourite palette of mine and I know I'll be using this a lot.
You can see a makeup look I created with this palette here and a video for it here.
You can buy this from Superdrug for £7.99

Superdrug Haul
Just before Christmas I had some extra money so thought I'd get myself a little treat and popped onto the Superdrug website. Most of the products are quite recent releases that I've wanted to try out so let's get onto the haul.
Eylure Texture 117 Lashes £5.35
Eylure Texture 117 Pre Glued Lashes £5.35
I went through my eyelashes the other week and I wanted some full, fluttery ones but I didn't really have any so I bought these two. They're not as full as I'd like but we'll see once I try them on. I only noticed once they arrived that they both have the same number but they are slightly different.
Freedom Pro Brow Pommade in Auburn £5
Collection Contour Kit £2.99
I don't own any products specifically for brows and I recently saw this brow pommade come out in an auburn shade which I thought might match pretty well. I've also wanted to get some more contour products as I only have the Sleek Face Form but it's difficult to find shades light enough for my skin but this looks quite light.
Makeup Revolution I Heart Chocolate Palette £7.99
Makeup Revolution Pink Fizz Palette £7.99
Makeup Revolution Salted Caramel Palette £7.99
Whenever Makeup Revolution come out with some new chocolate palettes I want them as the eyeshadow shades just look gorgeous and the pigmentation is amazing. I now own all 5 of their chocolate palettes.

2016 Goals
Move into a new flat - I've been in my current flat for just over a year now but it's only a studio and I'd really like to move into a one bedroom so there's more space for me and my cats.
Buy some lighting - As the British weather can be quite crappy a lot of the time I would really like to get some lighting so I can take photos and film whatever time of day.
Save money - I'm terrible at saving money, I can't help it I just love buying stuff but this year I'm going to try my best and start saving.
Start exercising and lose weight - I really want to lose some weight and I think the only way that's going to happen is if I do some exercise as I don't eat too badly.
Upload a video every week - I just uploaded my first video to YouTube last week and I really want to keep up with it and upload at least once a week.
